Default Marlin 81-DL ?

I ended up with Marlin model 81-DL. When I got it I just cleared it an put in the gun cabinet (I thought it was a model 25 to be honest). I just checked it out and it looks like it hasn't been shot much at all. Anyway, I have been having a hard time finding anything out about it other than it was made from between the 40's and early 60's. After looking at it closer, it appears to be a quality adult .22 and back then must of cost a bit of $. Anyone have one or know anything about them?

Got a couple or 3 of them kicking around here. Improvement of the model 81 made from 1940-1965. Hunting quality rifle, durable, reliable- they made a ton of them, average used about $165. Great plinking rifle. There are a couple of different bolts (early/ late model) with different extractors. There is also a Glenfield version (same gun, birch stock instead of walnut) and some wear a J C Higgins, Revelation or Westernfield label. (Sears, Western Auto, Montgomery Ward)
