So, Ive been searching around on Google, Here, and asking questions at Sportsmans warehouse when I was there, and I cant seem to find anyone that makes high capacity mags.

It was a HS graduation gift from my bro, since my dads dinosaur 22 will either shoot when you cycle the bolt, or pepper your forehead with power, and I really like the Marlin alot, its a cool little gun for the price. But im almost wishing I got a 10-22 after seeing what you can do to those, its great! But im not giving up yet, Ill see what you champion plinkers have to say.
But dont tell me to get a 10-22, because Ill never get around to it.

Ok, thanks for the reply, This says a 989, im dont know much about these things. even though this says its for a 989, it should slap right in to my 795?

As all are box-magazine variants of the Model 60 action, and the Model 795 is simply the latest of the series, it should work fine.

NO DO NOT BUY THOSE CRAPPY MAGS!!!!

There are threads and threads and threads about National Magazine Mags...they SUCK!!!

They do NOT work in the 795.

Heck, they didn't work in the Model 70 (Papoose), which is what they were supposedly designed for.

Ok, now for the info that you really need...

Ramline made a hi-cap Marlin mag which DID work...but they're rare as heck nowadays.

The were pre-Clinton Gun Ban...along with their folding stock for the Model 70 & Marlin 60.

They ceased production in 1994 and have never restarted, even though they restarted all the 1022 stuff.

There is also a 13-round magazine which actually was made for another brand of rifle...
We're still trying to find out who made the darn things...but I've got one of 'em.
Works perfectly in my old & new Marlins. Sooner or later, we'll figure that out.
and then we'll pass on the info everywhere

As for now, only the 10-round OEM Marlin mags are readily available for the 795.
Until some nice Mag MFR gets off their butt and makes a nice hicap for us all.

You figure, 3 million 795's...
another 7 million pre-1994 Marlin 70P/989/989M2/995/70HC/Katz 1242/etc
so you've got 10 million Marlin owners who want Hi-Cap mags...
and does anyone really think those guys are gonna just buy ONE???

Ruger's only put out 7 million 1022's...and everyone's fighting over a slice of that pie.
If ONE mfr put out a GOOD hi-cap marlin mag...he'd make over 10 million sales in his first YEAR.

Why not have a large market all to yourself...instead of fighting over the scraps of the 1022 market??

It's a shame most Mag MFR's are dumb as stumps.

Most excellent, thank you for the info, cool stuff in there. So, I am confused on models here, are any of these parts interchangeable? the 795 and the model 60/70 and whatnot, are they basically the same action? because I noticed that my 795 have 2 safties, a bolt lock and the standard trigger lock, so its like the action has the bolt lock from another gun, and they added the trigger lock button for the 795.
