marlin 795 or 60?

This is short and sweet. Is there a difference between the marlin 795 and 60 besides one being tube and one being magazine fed? Is one more accurate than the other? Is one of superior quality to the other?

I have shot my FIL's model 60 and I wouldn't hesitate to buy one. Saying that, I would buy the 795 just because I am currently not liking the looks or feel of the tube fed .22s. Just a personal preference on my part more that anything. I'm sure they are both of top quality and you probably can't go wrong either way.

The tube feed Vs Box magazine is the major difference. The actions are identical, with the exception of a last shot bolt hold open on the 795. The 795 seems to be the base model, with no stock or barrel options. The 60 is available in a few different stock and barrel variations. Both are quite accurate and reliable out of the box.

Alright, I was just checking, I am looking at getting a little plinker really innexpensively but I didn't want to get some p.o.s. As long as it can hit a coke can from about 30 yards away that will be plenty satisfactory for me. I also plan on using it to teach my 13 year old nephew and my girlfriend how to shoot and I figure a .22 is a really good place to start.

I have a much older model Marlin that is very similar to the Mod 60. Forget about 30 yards- you'll be able to do it at 100 with irons. Accurate little guns!

I've got a 795 and if you want a no frills, accurate little rifle, you can't go wrong with the 795. I might be willing to part with mine....I want a bolt action.
