Marlin .22

What kind of scope rings would I use on a marlin .22?

Marlin

Most Marlins have grooved receivers for "tip off" rings and bases. Most, if not all of the manufacturers have rings suitable for this application. I would recommend 1" rings and a decent 1" scope. Stay away from the old pencil sized .22 scopes. They are not worth the trouble.

Just bought a Simmons Mag 22 riflescope...

Robocop10mm, I just bought a Simmons Mag 22 riflescope that I ordered online. It's in matt black, 3-9x32 It comes with it's own rings. I haven't mounted the scope onto my Marlin 60 yet. This scope was suggested by an old buddy of mine. He's had a similar setup for awhile now, and is really pleased with the scope. Anybody out there have any comments regarding this scope?

Just logged onto this cool site. How's everybody doin'?

I have a Simmons that is silver. (.22 mag) around 6 in long) works great on my .22 Rem. The Marlin 'stinks'! You do NOT need some big ole fancey scope for your .22 ,even the 'pencil' jobbers will work well if you play a little.
I guess it depends on the use.
