Dammmmit! I have two pre-'37 model 67s, was digging them out of the safe to do some maintenance and discovered the stock had come apart on one (mine, not my son's fortunately), a huge split resulted in the stock splitting off along the grain (no pics for now). It split along the butt plate mounting screw where it was weakened I assume. I feel sick to my stomach! I dont know how hard it is to find replacement stocks (early model with grooves). Not sure how it happened, assume it was during a recent move. The gun had a sock on it, but no hard case. Lesson learned for me, invest in cases for ALL weapons, I am kicking myself right now.
Any suggestions?

HB68,I feel your pain. I'm in the process of completely rebuilding my first gun I had as a child,a Marlin 81 bolt 22 and the stock has a 6-8" crack from the end of the stock back to the assembly bolt. I have found some used stocks but they are not in good cond either. I will probably just order a nice fancy walnut stock from Richards and inlet it myself after I finish all the metal work. There is a guy in Arkansas that has a lot of old stocks and I will look and see if he might have one for you. My computer is down right now,so I can't give you his website. THB
