Just got my MOE back from S&W. They said in the letter that the extractor needed adjustment. No free mag in the box unfortunately. I've yet to test it though bc of ammo shortages. I'll post after I get my hands on some .22lr.

Took her out on Friday and ran about 100 rounds through it. First two mags I shot for accuracy at 25 yards, easy I know, she ran all 25 rounds from each mag with no problems. The second two mags I just dumped at the same distance into the same target. She ran good and had no problems. 100 rounds went off 100%, completely different from before it was repaired.

All in all, a fine rifle and S&W did me right and fixed it for free and paid for the shipping both ways and had a quick turnaround time. If only they would have sent me a free mag and some swag it would've been perfect!

Default Production year?

I've found a pretty good offer on a used 15-22 in a local gun shop.
Is there a way to tell when the gun was produced?
I would like to avoid the out of battery problems the early versions had.
Here is a side picture of it

Does anyone know what 'DTZ3391' may mean? It may be related to import but am not really sure.
Any other way to spot out later production?
The muzzle break was probably added by the former user as all imported guns over here are from the version with no muzzle break.

Kind regards

DTZ3391 is the serial number. You can find out the age from the SN - I can't remember how though. Comparing to my SN (is very close, DURxxxx) my guess is manufactured in late 2010 or early to mid 2011.

Thank you for the reply! I think you are right.
I took this from the S&W forum:
Quote:
DSZ, DTA, DTB, DTD, DTE, DTH, DTM, DTX, DTU, DTZ, and now DUA
published in March 2010. So probably it's a 2010 gun.
I don't know if the extractor problem happened till a certain series but from what I read I should check if it has the blue springs, right?

Thank you!

My MOE was one if the first ones to hit dealers, I picked her up in March 2010(I'm pretty sure, if not it was a month or two later).

When S&W sent my rifle back after being repaired, it still had the blue recoil spring. They said they adjusted the extractor.

Since the thread is turning toward the MP15-22, can someone help me out, first I own one and the love the gun with all most 7000 rounds and NO issues. Should I be getting concern, start replacing any certain parts? I keep it clean and shoot 2 to 3 times a week.

I wouldn't think so.

I want either less corruption or more opportunity to participate in it.
