I'm sorry, but they don't make a semiboltlever. ;)

See if you can find a Marlin model 39 for a lever or a CZ for an excellent bolt action.

I think he qualified the Question for UNDER $300.00. I havent seen any CZs or Marlin 39As under 300 bucks. New or used.

I was just looking through a Bass Pro sale paper and saw a Marlin 60 for $159.99. Throw a $40 scope on and have at it.

The Marlin 60 has made alot of shooters happy! I don't know about that $40.00 scope? I might look at one of those cheaper Weavers or New Redfields. That still would only take him to $300.:)

Sorry, I missed the $300. part. The Marlin Model 60 has a lot of fans and so does the Remington 597.

Most Wal-Marts (those that still carry rifles) have a pretty cool Marlin 60. It's a Wal-Mart exclusive model, a stainless steel rifle with a perty silver scope on it. If I was going to buy a 60, I'd probably go for that one...;) (but I like my 10/22's)

ya i have shot 2 different model 60s one was stainless with a laminate stock the other was an original blued with walnut stock they are really nice and never jam but if i got a semi auto i would like a box instead of a tube magazine

I am going to go different that the rest and say Look at a Savage like the Mark II FV. $280 retail. Put a decent scope on it and head to the range for some tack driving fun.
