Default Lever action.

Does anyone know any lever action 22s or 22Mag rifles that you reload from the reciever as opposed to the end of the tube? Like a centerfire lever action rifle.

Ruger 96 is a lever action 22lr with a rotary magazine like the 10-22.
Remington made the Nylon 76 which fed from a tubular magazine in the stock.
The 22lr is too fragile to be fed like a cf round. Trying to force them though a loading gate would probably bend the bullet especially as the magazine neared its capacity.

Closest thru the receiver will be a Box Magazine-fed lever-action rifle...Marlin 56 comes to mind...

But in thru a gate...nobody makes it, and likely no market for it...

Benefit of Tube-Mags fed thru the front is you can use a Spee-D-Loader...
whip out the tube, put Spee-D up to the end & let gravity do its thing...
then replace tube, rack a round, aim, and start going BANG!

Before the Spee-D, some of us old pharts used 2200/2300-plus-sized aluminium arrows as speed loaders...

The Ruger 96-22, yes, but don't buy one (I think they discontinued them relatively quickly anyway). If you think the stock trigger on the 10-22 leaves something to be desired, and it does, there is nothing you can do on the 96-22's which is horrendous. My trigger-pull scale stops at 14 lbs. I think and it is way off the scale. Maybe that's what the first numbers are -- trigger-pull in lbs!

You might look at one of these. It is not a lever and not a bolt. But it does use all the 10/22 stock and magazines. The action is moved forward and back in a quick motion.

It is a receiver that converts a 10-22 into a T-bolt/straight pull rifle. Gives you all the 10-22 mods. Not cheap. Browning sells a T-bolt that is a very nice rifle.

How in the Frack do we go from a guy looking for a lever-action to a motherfreekin 1022 clone??

I'm starting to wonder if some folks have 1022 on the brain

LOL, well it's a "side" lever. It feels more like a lever action than a bolt.
