...with ammo being what it is, or the lack thereof, I unloaded all but one handgun and started looking to buy a few .22 rifles. Went looking for 20" barrels, either blue or stainless and I wanted wood stocks. Found a used 77/22 that was absolutely beautiful, but thought I'd pass because of the high dollars, and at the last minute i slapped down $500.00 for it.
Haven't fired it yet as I picked it up about a week after back surgery. Cannot wait!!!

They are excellent lil rifles, and GOBS of aftermarket barrels & other stuff is available for them. I would hesitate to pay 500$ for a used 1 however. It takes any 10/22 magazine, assuming it's in .22LR flavor. I like the Ruger ring mounting system a LOT, so I hope you received the rings that was supplied with the rifle when it was new.
