Default Jc higgins model 43 dl

Anyone know where to find a manual online for this gun? It is a tube fed bolt action. Also I believe they may be the precursor to the marlin 60. If so, would a manual for a marlin 60 also work for this gun? Thanks for the help

Hec- your rifle was made by Marlin for the Sears company, using the Sears JC Higgins brand. It is a Marlin 81. Good rifle. Frankly, there really is not much of a manual for these- they are from an era when lawyers were not running gun companies.

This is a generic manual for bolt action marlin 22s- http://www.marlinfirearms.com/pdfs/manuals/MFC_Bolt_Action_RF.pdf

If you need further deep info on the Marlin 81, I suggest RimfireCentral's Marlin forum in the bolt-action section

the 781 is the same thing with a slightly better trigger...and very slightly at that
