Default J-McLean

I'm wondering if someone out there would know the advantages of a Marlin 56 over a Ruger 96 ? Or, maybe the other way around. Which is the better rifle in .22 lr. ? I'm interested in threading the barrel and installing a suppressor. In doing so, there wouldn't be the sound of the action cycling until the shooter was ready....
Maybe someone would have additional ideas for me other than what I'm thinking...
I've got a 77/22 set up for the suppressor already and it works well but I'm thinking of a faster follow up shot.
I also have a 10/22 and a 22/45 set up for the suppressor but they make a lot of racket as they cycle plus, sometimes they don't function reliably with sub-sonic ammo.
