I have two Saiga's and they are, essentially, "civilian" versions of the AK. Not necessarily pretty, but solid as rocks and tough as nails. They were
very inexpensive for the quality of the gun you were buying (most could be had for $200 or so), but the price has started going up a good bit in the past few years. The gun I paid $190 for in '04 - when they were imported by EAA - now sells for closer to $400 at the local gun shows.
