The Mossberg twentytwos are fast becoming collector's items nowadays - that price was EXCELLENT! Any grungy .22 rifle starts at $150 in pawnshops down here. I'd have jumped on that Mossy! It would be a nice addition to my 8 other Mossbergs - I do not have a 151K yet.......
The 151K does seem to be more often seen lately than certain other models, but not in 'like new' condition.

But, for training your son, the Remington 514 is a good choice too - I love mine.
Check it carefully for proper extraction though - the extractors are often very worn on 514's. Numrich has them though, and replacement is a snap! I did that with mine.

I was worried about the Mossberg having worn parts right off the bat due to it's age so I went with the Remington for now. If the Mossberg is still there in a couple of weeks, I'll buy it. It's a very nice .22. Here are a few pics of the 514.

Mossberg all the way. We have a 151m with the 4m4 scope, my boy's are 10 and 12 and shoot the heck out of it. I enjoy it also. I'm sure there is another 50 years left in this rifle. As cpttango said Vic Havlin and his wife Cheryl are real pleasure to deal with for parts and info. Good luck.
