ok lets build a 10/22

Rifle: $250
Barrel: $387
Stock: $187
Trigger: Stalking Bear trigger job for $80
Scope mount: $30
Rings: $30

Grand Total: $821

Nto encluding a scope.

What do I have a Ruger 10/22 that doesn't shot any better than if I got a 10/22 T and had bear rework the trigger.

Whoo, yeah it is easy to get expensive in a hurry with the 10/22
But, you don't have to go that expensive to get great results out of a 10/22 IMO
I went with this Fajen/A&B barrel setup for mine
FajenŽ Ruger 10/22 Wood Stock Barrel Combo Coffee
They got it listed for $359 but if you look around you can find them on sale way cheaper on sites like GB. I bought my combo NIB off e-bay a while back for less than $200. It shot alot better for me than the couple 10/22T's I've used in the past YMMV

Receiver/bolt $300
Barrel $200
Trigger $200
Stock $100
Scope base/rings $60

Hm, I came up with about the same.

If I am going to buy a barrel why am I going to buy some crap from midwayusa?

Same with the stock I don't want that stock. I wanted a Bench rest stock.

It is either $378 for the volquatersen or $358 for a shilen.

Just saying that is not what I want.

But you think the Factory 10/22 T barrel is better than the midway crap
I don't think my A&B shoots like crap, Made by Green Mountain which may not be "benchrest" but I'd run mine against the higher ends and not feel outmatched.

If thats "not what you want" no big deal, was just making some suggestions. Thought thats what you were looking forHigher end 22lr - .22 Rifle/Rimfire Discussion

Just since you all brought up price
My initial build was approx $$
New sporter rifle bought for the Receiver/ Bolt $300
Trigger $80
Stock and barrel $200
Rings and mount around $60
$640 and made a few bucks back selling off the new factory stock and barrel

Would buy a used rifle for the receiver if I had to do it again.

I didn't get anything from Midway for mine.

Yes, my stock is a cheap one, but I am not a benchrest shooter...yet.

And the Kidd barrel for just under $200 is a good one from everything I've read and according to the guys I am shooting with. Are you familiar with them?

Sure, you know a LOT more than I do about this stuff, I am still learning.

Tango,You'd probably be happier with the Browning or CZ the way you like to shoot.

I have always had very good luck with my Ruger 10/22T,but it is an older model without all the plastic parts.

I've been thinking about trading my Browning Buckmark rifle in on a LH T bolt, those rifles are great shooters.

I don't know if you could call it upper end but I'm hearing rave reviews on the Winchester Wildcat. Fit and finish and accuracy.
