Do you have the Henry Frontier or Octogon barreled model ? How does it shoot?
Will it shoot w Marlin ? Weight about the same ? I believe this extra weight (up front) adds stability for offhand shooting. Besides looking better - IMHO

Wish Marlin had an Octogon barrel.

Yes I have one. I have it in 45 lc. Some marlins DO have an octogonal barrel......I think. The 39s do I think. Henry's don't shoot w marlins anywhere around Marlins class.

If you had it in 22 LR w could test it Marlins micro groove barrel concept. I saw a very old Marlin a friend caught while fishing off island. Was in bad shape but he sent it back to factory in the early 90s and he said they did a great job. I believe it had Ocotgon barrel.

Island Fishing: - a guy told me to always follow up each fishing trip by working the Island for bass etc but there are always poachers or those scouting who w rather chuck the gun in the river rather than answering any questions.

More than a few "interesting things" have been caught by accident.

I have tested that theory. Iv put ALL my 39's against all three of my Henry 22's. 4 39's to 3 henrys
