Default Help my 10/22 get screwed

My 10/22 had an aluminum see-through picatinny riser attached wth 4 screws into the receiver when I bought it.

When I installed brand new Tech-Sights (TSR-200...awesome!!!), I couldn't get the 4 screws removed so I destroyed them with my screw extractor.

Now that I want to install this riser on another 10/22, I need 4 more screws.

Anybody know the type of screw I could/should use?

Best guess is 6x48 screws.

go up a size to 8-32 or 8-48. the aluminum receiver is known to have the factory threads strip out. going larger gets you into a more meatier portion of the receiver and a more sturdy mount. just double check the screws' depth. they shouldn't reach into the receiver as they will bind with the bolt as it cycles.

Here's how I fixed the problem:

I bought another 10/22 that came with an extra set of screws for a different mount. Good fix, huh?
