Default Hallelujah! Rem will rebarrel 597/.17HMRs

In a 180-degree shift, Remington seems to have had a change of mind about its "recall on the cheap" for 597-.17HMRs. I read in another forum they're now offering to rebarrel to .22WMR. I called Remington (1-800-243-9700; #3 when the options come up). The nice lady took my info and said a shipping label is on the way. Have your rifle's serial number handy when you call; they'll require it.
