Default H&K MP5 A5 (umarex)

Does anyone have one of these? I bought one about a month ago and haven't gotten the damn thing to fire. I've contacted Umarex and they sent me a shipping label so I could send it in for service, but it just really pisses me off that a gun of this quality would come out of the box defective! I believe it's in the trigger mechanism that lies the problem, but they want me to send in the whole gun to check it out. If any one knows anything about these and could possibly help me fix it myself I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks guys!

GunNut, take all your accessories off and pop that bad boy in the box....The sooner you send it off the sooner you get it back to play with...............

Hope you aren't using Remington ammo in that...
They've been known to do entire 525 boxes of Golden Bullets with no primer...

H&K issues are RARE, so you may have just gotten the 1 in 100,000 lemon...
hey, it happens...to every MFR sooner or later...

So I finally sent it in after trying everything I could think of to fix whatever problem there is. UMAREX customer service was less than satisfactory tho. First time I called, they took all of my info and said there would be an email sent out with the shipping label and paperwork, etc... 2 days later I called back, spoke with the same person and he had to re-take all my info and only then did I get what I needed. With 2-day shipping I gave it 3 and called to make sure they received it and all the paperwork was correct (per their instructions) and it took 2 more days and more calls to finally get them to say everything was there and that he couldn't tell me when it would even get started to be worked on. So I guess I'll just wait and see what happens.

Keep us updated with this one....unless theres no firing pin in the gun it should fire! When you cock the gun and pulled the trigger with an empty magazine in the well did it even click?

Sorry to hear about the bad luck. Mine has performed flawlessly for the miniscule 250 rds that have traveled down the barrel.
Hopefully they will rectify the problem or send you a new one.

I got the gun back today. According to UMAREX, they had to replace the trigger d/t faulty manufacturing... With that said, I am slightly impressed with their turn around time, but, I still wish I hadn't had to deal with it. I haven't shot it yet, but they say "multiple rounds fired, no FTF/FTE." And yes, finally, when mag is loaded it does click. Hoping to get out there this weekend. I'll keep you guys up to date. Maybe if I can figure it out, I'll post a video.
Also, while we're on the subject of H&K... Anyone seen a 416 (5.56x45) converted to civi standards? Or even a 9mm MP5?

I got to see the 9mm mp5 at the range one day. It was a group of people that own one of the gunshops around here had a field day at the range and brought a bunch of their weapons. A bunch of suppressed weapons including the mp5. It was pretty epic.
