Hey everyone i wasn't to sure to put this here or in the gunsmith section, but i recently purchased a savage arms mark II fss .22lr and i took it to the range yesturday to try it out, after about 80 some odd shots the trigger wouldn't work as if the safety was on (dont worry i checked and it was off) so i put the safety on (also making sure it wasnt loaded) and pulled the trigger and it dry fired or whatever the correct term is. so basically its the opposite. anyone have similar problem? is it fixable or should i take it to a gunsmith? or should i even worry about it????

Is this the Savage .22LR that is semi-auto, available at Wal-Mart for about $100? I have one, if it's the same rifle, and never had this problem. If you just bought it then you should be able to call the manufacturer and they should fix it.

I would worry about fixing it because it is a problem with the safety and could cause an accidental discharge later.

Bring it back and have WalMart either exchange it or send it back to Savage for you. A new gun with a defective safety shouldn't be messed with by the owner, and due to the liability issue, I'm sure Savage will pay the postage both ways!
