Default Gsg-5 22lr.

anyone out there have a GSG5 22 LR? if you don't highly recommend it. I bought mine and put Redfield red dot scope and laser on it. Been training with it absolutely love it. It is highly accurate after around 1300 rounds not a single jam or misfire and that includes the 20rnd clips that they make not a single hang up and that my fellow 22 shootn colleagues I enjoyed compared to all of my Ruger 10 / 22 20clips. I also have a Remington 597 but I've only been shooting 10 shot clips. Read too many bad reviews to even worry about purchasing bannana clips. Its highly accurate also but for squirrel hunting anyway.
but anyway back to the GSG5- 22 lr. Looooooovvvve it and ammo cheaper than 5.56/223 ammo just to learn manuvers.

Yes, you could put one on your Sig.

Mine is a Burris Fast Fire 2, but get a 3 because the battery is easier to access for changing. Be sure you get a mount that fits a Novak cut rear sight, the standard 1911 cut mount will not work on your Sig.

Optics Planet and Rrages.com are good sources.

I would get one but the rifles do not have threaded barrels and would require extensive gun smithing to add it

Huh? The ones I've seen are threaded near the base to take a faux integral suppressor. All you have to do is unscrew it. From there you can either thread the end of the actual barrel, or shorten it and thread it. Not sure what the stock length is on the barrel, so I'm not sure how far you can shorten it before needing paperwork.

The fake integral is just a sleeve that fits over the length of the barrel.

Having a qualified gunsmith thread the barrel bore concentric can cost between $50-$100. For me to do it locally, it is $100. With the added cost I could get an M&P that comes from the factory threaded. I guess it irritates me they will thread it for a fake suppressor but not for a real one.

I have shot the GSG and it is nice and looks nice as well.

The GSG-5 is the one that looks like the H&K MP5. The GSG-5, I've seen in gun stores for between $350 (used) and $500.

Are you saying that you can get an MP5 (even the non FA?) for $100 more, threaded for a suppressor, or are both of us confused as hell? Or are you referring to the M&P 15/22 based on the AR platform? Or do they have an MP5 lookalike too that I don't know about?

Yes, I was referring to the 15/22 that does not look like an MP5. Both semi auto high capacity 22's which was my thought.
The GSG 1911-22 has a threaded barrel which is another reason it is frustrating that the rifle is not...
