So here's sort of my range report for the savage. I say sort of because this was done at 100 yards with a new scope that had never been sighted in. I got this out of 20 shots. I did a lot better latter but the range did not have a cease fire so I couldn't go retrieve my second target. I did get to use my 770 30.06 and was hitting a 1x1 plate at 700 yards

The center orange area incase you were wondering is 3.25 in diameter. Later after I got it sighted in it was picking off golfballs at 100 no problem. I was using Remington bulk .22 hollow points and some .22 subsonics that I didn't care for too much. It was like shooting a pellet gun.

start with finding a brand it shoots well. buy 50 round boxes of everything you can find and do some testing.

The stock is hollow, so you center drill all 4 holes; you don't have to drill all the way through - which would likely result with missing the mark
on the other side. All four holes were drilled separately. You figure out where you want the check rest, then aline the template and tape in place. I didn't use lock tight on the steel Torx screws. But it suggests you do.
Now all it needs is the bipod.

Looking good man! I need to take mine out again. I let my son set the scope up last time out. He had so much fun I didn't get to shoot it much.

The subs are really only advantageous if you
are shooting with a suppressor. Otherwise,
might as well go with standard or high velocity.
You'd need hearing protection with any of them
unsuppressed, with the exception of the Aguila Super Colibri primer-only (no powder) subsonic rounds at a mere 550 fps. They are pellet gun quiet unsuppressed in a rifle. They are a little short & don't always feed from the magazine, but sometimes they do.
