Got a Henry Frontier Lever Action Octagon!

Got my first Lever Action rifle and opted for the Henry Frontier Octagon (around $350 most places I think) and am finding it to be really fun to shoot.

Today at the range, I shot 50 .22 short and 50 .22 LR, both standing with no external support and sitting with a front rest and bag.

Liked it so much I'm wondering what a higher-caliber Lever Action might be to shoot, like perhaps a Henry Big Boy .357/.38 Special.

For now though, the cheap ammo and non-existent recoil means I can shoot it for hours if I felt like it and still have money left for lunch and a working shoulder to lift that burger to my mouth.

Just wanted to share.

Wonder how many others have Henry Lever Action?

I suspect Winds will stop in soon to share her Jealousy ;)
She's been wanting one for a while.

Thanks.

Yeah, I took it to the range along with my 300 WSM. After firing 2 boxes of 300 WSM, shifting over to the .22 was almost hilarious. Big Boom, no boom.

That's why its nice to have multiple calibers ;)

I'm debating between the octagon barrel of the 30-30:

and the Big Boy octagon .357:

I have two .357 revolvers (one small for concealed, one larger for home defense) so could use the same ammo if I went with the Big Boy, I believe.

Now you've done it! You have allowed a Henry lever-action rifle into your shooting life and you will prize it above all other rimfire rifles! You will bore your friends by praising it's smoothness and accuracy and build-quality and all-American goodness!
I know this will happen to you because it happened to me when I bought my Henry Golden Boy.
I dithered whether to get the .22LR or order a Big Boy in 30-30 but went for the smaller caliber because I no longer hunt and I can shoot .22 all day for what one tube of centerfire ammo would cost. But big-bore or not, you will fall in love with that gun.
