Good scope for a savage mark ii

I wanna get a new scope for my savage mark II. I was wondering what a good scope would be less then $100. I'm gonna do target shooting at 50 yards. I wanna shoot at a competition and they shoot at 50 yards and it's bench rest.

I have 2, mark ll's and both have bushnell banners 3x9. They are totally adequate and cost @ $79.

A scope for competition under $100? Have you seen what people are using where you’ll be shooting? If any of them are under $100, get that. With rimfire it doesn't take much to outshoot the ammunition, but round after round for hours at a time it may take a bit more than $100.

On the other hand, if you're never changing your ammo and aren't changing your elevation, if it's going to be a set it and forget it, maybe you don't require consistently resettable turrets and a <$100 scope will do just fine.

This is a sort of "4 Star" $100 and under scopes from Optics Planet.

I also have an Mk II. It's a TR with a Bi-pod. I shoot it BR and prone. I now have a Mueller 8-32x44 scope on it. It focuses down to 10 yards. I have no problem seeing the holes at 100y. I don’t bother with a spotting scope when I use it. I have a couple of thousand rounds of CCI through it and at 50y the clicks repeat without deviation. I haven't tried subsonic at 100y yet. I don’t know how clear the image is before daybreak or dusk, in a mist, shooting into the light, but for the range it’s fine. It did cost me $230. I had a coupon or something.

This is a 14x Mueller scope that may be suitable for 50y. It also focuses down to 10y. It’s $129.

I have been to these shoots. I did not stand a chance with an off the shelf rifle and scope. The cheapest gun there aside from mine was over $2k with optics and they were shooting high dollar ammo. I would have had to spend between $2k and $3k to be competitive. Anshutz and Leupold were the cheap set ups. I just wanted to have a little fun. They were shooting at individual targets for each shot. The target sheet had 25 targets and 2 sighters. The x ring looked to be about 1/8". Wind was the only real factor meaning the one who could dope the wind the best won. 25X was not that uncommon. Now a Savage BTSV will shoot very well if properly tuned and most of these guys were shooting 16x and very good scopes. Each one had a wind meter. Some mic'ed the rims of the ammo as well as weighing each round and this was on expensive target ammo to start with.

Well yeah, you need a lot of money and a lot of experience reading the wind to win rimfire, but you don't need a lot to enjoy yourself, or at least I don't. You do, however, need a little bit money to avoid going nuts from equipment inconsistency. You need to know it's you and not sloppy turrets.

Thanks for the discouraging replies. I just wanted to do it for fun. It would be nice to win. But I wasn't expecting to. And $100 was stretching my budget. I wanna eventually get a 10/22 and modify it for competitions.
