Default Good scope for .22lr

I'm looking for a low budget scope to go target practice with. Longest range possible under $150.

Mueller APV. These are one of the most popular scopes for custom 10/22s. Adjustable parallax and focus. Good choice for shooting long range.

Under $150 is tuff. If you can go up to $200, it opens up quite a bit better selection.

Mueller has some nice low budget 'long range' scopes:

For NEW, the top end would be, Mueller APV and Nikon ProStaff for the best. For a little cheaper Bushnell 4-12x40 w/Illumination, BSA Sweet22 are good runner ups.

If you can, don't rule out USED. You can find some newer top quality Scopes like Weaver, Nikon, Leupold, Sightron, Vortex for around 1/3 price or better that you wouldn't normally afford.

As typical of me, spent this morning at range with 5 rifles. One was a Marlin XT22 with a Simmons Pro Hunter 6-18x40 side focus scope. Own at least 3 of the Pro-Hunter scopes with rest on mid recoiling centerfire rifles such as the 257Roberts I was also shooting today. Decent scopes for my paper shooting. Being a 40mm lens, the 6-18 power is not a bad fit on a 22 rifle. Crosshairs could be finer, but they're acceptable for my usual 50 yd 22 LR target shooting.

Mind you, most of the Simmons Pro Hunter models were discontinued when Bushnell acquired Simmons. All of mine are the Meade made Simmons Pro Hunters. At www.natchezss.com you can find the discontined 6-18x40 SF for $70 plus shipping. Worth a look. By the way, gent on Rimfire Central posted about the scope a couple of months ago and how happy/impressed he was with it.

I have two of these on some very good .22lr rifles and they work well for a several years. Easy to shoot at long distance with. Only thing that I hate is there price is lower now. They will adjust down to 10 yards too.
