Default FN-Browning .22 pump

Fabrique Nationale - Browning .22LR pump action rifle - well used but in good condition. Based on Browning patent 1424553 (1922) - see photo. Serial #71111. Marble #3 front sight, adjustable rear sight. Was my grandad's - in northwestern Ontario.
Does anyone have any idea about date of manufacture, who sold these guns in Canada and value. Thanks

Browning can tell you the mfg date by the serial #.

Thanks Tx - This gun was manufactured in Belgium by Fabrique Nationale based on the Browning patent - does Browning keep records of FN guns?

FN contracted to build guns for John Moses Browning and later the company that bears his name. They also held licenses to produce various Browning patented firearms and market them in some countries outside the USA.

If it is marked Fabrique Nationale Browning patents, I doubt Browning USA will have the info. Browning is now a subsidiary of FN Herstal as are USRAC (Winchester) and FN Manufacturing LLC. Browning North America may have access to the Belgian files.

Thanks robocop,
I've contacted FN Herstal in Belgium directly to see if they have any data on file - if they do, I'll post it back here.

FN fianlly replied to my query advising that the only information that they have is that the gun was shipped to a retailer in Toronto in December, 1948. There's not much information out there about these guns it seems
