Default Federal Bulk v CCI Mini-Mag

I must admit I'm surprised. Based on my trip to the range today, it seems my stock 10/22 carbine isn't too impressed with the more expensive ammo.

Oh... And the two shots to the left were prior to dialing in my scope at all. These were all @ 100 yds. First time I've tried it.

Yep, I've had excellent luck with the Federal 550 Bulk Packs in my two 10/22's too. For "cheap" ammo it does damn good. I've tried CCI Mini Mag's, Remington Yellow Jackets Federal Champion and none of them do any better than the Fed. 550, yet the prices are much higher.

Try some Wolf "Match", I've never tried it, but I hear it's pretty accurate.

I guess in a sense we're lucky the 10/22's are just as happy using the "economy" stuff.

Shot the 10/22 yesterday, used the Fed 550, CCI's and Remington Thunderbolts and had the same results. It LOVES the Federal, the CCI's were all over the place and the Rem's were just pure crap.

Good groups with the Fed's Armadillo!!

I shoot the Federal all the time for plinking and some target. It does pretty good.

The CCI is for trying to make 1 hole groups. You're using the wrong CCIs. Those a hollow points and are for hunting. Find the CCIs that don't say HP on them.

Was shooting the federal bulk, cci 40 grain, and winchester wildcat?? Sighted in using federal, they seemed good, but got some low powered shots. Then finished off the cci that I had. The federal and cci went bang every time, I had one dud with the winchester, but tried again and it went off. I didn't group the cci, but I did the federal and winchester. The winchesters were hotter, and grouped better out of my Marlin m60. But the Federal were knocking down shotshells at 75-100 yards consistently.

I shoot the Federal Bulk 550 rounds out of my Mark II. She has never complained yet. I have the more expensive CCI but I have only shot a few rounds of it so far. The Federal works just fine for me.

This was at 25 yards using a scope. I certainly need more practice...........but it was fun.

From what I've noticed the 10/22s seem to really like the federal bulk. Whereas most every other 22 I've shot really likes cci mini mags. My m60 accuracy changes quite noticeably using different ammo while my buddies 10/22 really doesn't seem to care about ammo.

You can have 2 identical guns and they will always shoot the same ammo differently. It is a good thing that your gun likes the less expensive ammo.
