CZ 455 Lux

While at my LGS this afternoon picking up my new STG44-22 (cool rifle by the way) I spotted a bolt action rifle that jumped out at me. It was a CZ 455 Lux in 22LR with a beautiful stock. Examining it the rifle had a quality feel to it and shouldered very comfortably. So I bought it.
The iron sights are excellent, Williams I believe, and would probably be adequate. But I will probably scope it since my aging eyes need all the help they can get. I'll post a range report as soon as I get a chance.

I hope you didn't find that in Wisconsin. My lgs has one I've been eyeing for months, and I was planning on getting it this week. They are great looking guns. I'd be curious how you like it. Be sure to update your post. good luck and congrats on your new gun

Unless you're just in love with the iron sights, I'd go with a model without the sights of you're going to scope it. Look at the 455 American and 455 Varmint.

I have the 455 Varmint and its a tack driver. I can put 5 rounds inside a dime at 50 yards pretty easily.

I went with the Lux based on looks and feel, I like the option of using the iron sights should something happen to the optic. Just ordered a set of Talley high rings for it. That is some good shooting, I hope I can shoot groups that tight at 50 yards.

The one I've been looking at has been in the shop for several months. It has a price tag of $399 and I think that's about right. I checked the tag and it said "model 455 lux". It has iron sights. Thanks for the info and I know you'll enjoy your new rifle.

$425 and worth every penny since you don't see a lot of these around. The quality is extremely high and the workmanship is flawless. If you can get that one for $400 I'd recommend doing so before someone else grabs it.
I'm on a rimfire kick lately, got these two the same day.

I have the 455 varmint and its not for sale. :) the quality is that of any high end .22.. Great gun and the only one I have shot or even want to shoot. Put a yo daves trigger and now a crisp1 lbs and at 100 yards on RWS target rifle I got inch to inch half 5 shot groups.. And at least a half inch of that is my mistake not the weapon.
