Not a bad effort! Before it's over with you will be able to go to the scrap yard and build a custom anything. No one else even thinks of modifying a Model 60 in this fashion.

the shiny part is aluminum sheet metal. i used an angle grinder to cut out a hole to slide the Marlin 60 action inside and the barrel. then used the aluminum sheet metal to help bed it. after doing this, i realized i didnt like how it looks so im going to try another method by using two halves like the AR15.

i have a dremel and an angle grinder.

i had a Marlin 795 i was using to do conversion and then realized i dont like that skinny magazine. its hard for me to access the mag/bolt release as well as pulling out the magazine through the magwell.

i went with the Marlin 60's because i didnt have to deal with magazines. also theyre cheaper used on gunbroker.

im buying 7 more marlin's next year.

I would think it would be popular in california; it isn't subject to the 10 round capacity limit on Cali/low capacity mags.

Have you tried one of these at the range? I don't have one but have heard nothing bad about them.

If you use it in Cali, you should probably tape a button marked "bullet" somewhere on there.
