You guys have a guess at a value for this 10/22:
gun started life as a 10/22 target. It has a golden laminate stock with a gloss blue heavy barrel with a spirial twisted finish. *The action and the barrel have been squared to 10 tenthousands of an inch, the stock has been pillar bedded to the action and barrel, the action has been polished and matched to the bolt and slide. It has an after market bolt handle. A completely re-done trigger set at just under 2 lbs with no creep or over travel. *It has a leupold base and ring set, the scope is a leopold vari x 3 with an adjustable objective lense, I have a riser cheek piece on the butt stock, a.bunch of extra mags.

Scope is the leupold 3.5-10 with a 40mm adjustable objective.

Thanks

With what you have stated and a couple of assumptions, I would guesstimate there is about $1200 to $1400 invested including the gun if bought new. If I were to build a gun like that I could not expect to make any kind of profit unless I found the person that REALLY wanted THAT gun. I would think that a fair price would be around $900 to $1000 if I were buying it for myself. The scope alone sells new for $479.

The deal would be the 10/22 and an h&r in 204 with the same scope for a guitar I paid $800 for and retails for 1500

You are getting the better deal even if you figure the retail price of the guitar. I say go for it. If the scope is the LV model, that scope goes for $479 retail. Even trade is a no brainer for me.
