You can use stingers in modern Marlin Bolt-actions.

Just avoid 'em in semi-auto actions with old (10+years old) buffers.
It's not fun to clean disintergrated plastic out of your action & trigger guard

Copy that, wasn't going to use them in my 60 but I thought I'd get a second opinion before I put them through the 80.
Thanks for the reply.

Stingers were designed to be used in any rifle capable of safely shooting high velocity .22LR ammo-short answer is yes, shoot em.

Stingers have always been accurate for me....maybe Tango has higher expectations.

The reason they recommend not to use stingers in your bull barrel is because of the chamber. Your barrel has somewhat of a "tighter" chamber than SAAMI specs. The stinger has a slightly longer case and shorter 32 gr bullet and MAY get stuck in the chamber unless fired. Using stingers in your barrel will result in the bullet being engraved upon loading and that may cause malfunctions. Usually barrels such as yours have "Bentz" chambers.
