Default Building a custom 10/22

I'm looking in to building a custom 10/22 and wanted to know if any one had any
Good ideas about getting started. I don't have any spear parts so I'm starting fresh. Mostly I wanted to know where would be a good place to look for a receiver assembly.
Thanks!

Well, I guess that would have to start with what you want to spend and how much access to gunsmithing and that sort of thing you have. You can pick up a good, used 10/22, strip it down and rebuild it all customized to your personal needs if you have the tools and the talent. are you equipped for such a project? Or do you have the basic hand tools and corded power tools in the garage shop?

The 10/22 is a pretty simple design, so you don't need to be a genius to tear it down and build it up with new parts. But, there are a few gunsmithing tricks that will help if you have the right goods.

Default 10/22

I built a custom 10/22 from the receiver up. This is what I have on mine and it was expensive. First i got a Lilja .920 barrel. http://www.riflebarrels.com/ I got my stock from Richards Microfit Gun stocks. http://rifle-stocks.com/ The stock is what took the most time. If you decide to go this way take your time and the results will amaze you. I bedded the barrel on this one because someone told me that the receiver was to week to bed and hold that much weight. Maybe someone will have more info. on this. To this I put a Volquartsen trigger. This trigger is a work of art. Smooth with little trigger creep and very light on the let off. To top it off I put a Weaver type rail on top with a Bushnell Elite 2300 scope. One thing that I almost forgot to say is that the Lilja barrel has a tight chamber. This it very accurate and some 22 ammo will not feed right. I had this problem and sent the barrel back to Lilja which they fixed with no hassle. This little gun will hit 20 ga shotgun hulls at 100 yds. off a bench. Good luck on your gun.

Default Thank you guys

Thank you guys for the feed back. And to answer the first reply I have some tools although I may need some more.
I'm willing to spend the time and money and that's why I'm searching around and asking the questions.
Thanks again guys.
