Well, I bought a thumbhole stock in Natural Laminate from Boyd's and decided it would be perfect for the wifey's 1990 Marlin model 60...but she wanted a more girly color...so here's the stained results before the Tru-Oil.
The light makes it look about two-three shades lighter than it really is. The above pic has the color right on the back half.
Why YES! That IS a Light Pink Front Sight...again, color washed out, so it's a little darker in person.
Ok...now we're deciding whether to have the barrel & action Ceracoated in Pink...or some other Duracoat/etc/whatever...but it's gonna get the full pink treatment. It's just got to be able to handle a LOT of shooting without coming off!!
What wifey wants...wifey gets!!
Mind you, I don't like Tru-Oil for Color Stains after seeing how it reacted...it gives it a slightly brownish hue. Wifey can't tell, but I sure can.
I'll use a clear polyurethane if I ever do another non-Brown Color Stain job.
