Default Bought a S&W M&P 15 / 22 today

Went to my local gunshop today and the only ammo they had was .22 LR. Sooooo, I spent $525 on a 15/22 and they let me buy double the 'ammo ration'. Got 4 boxes instead of 2. Finally added a long gun to my collection!

Anyone have experience with this gun. Seems like a nice little plinker.

It is my favorite and currently only semi-auto .22. I've had a few other semi's since I bought the 15-22 in Jan 2012 but the 15-22 isn't going anywhere.

The S&W 15-22 is a great rifle. Not only can it be used as a training aid for an AR, it is a fun and practicle rifle. A lot of people shun all the polymer, but it is so well done I find that argument strictly an opinion. An opinion by those who never shot one. This is S&Ws most popular rifle and for several good reasons, you'll be very happy with yours.
Smith & Wesson actually started a trend with this rifle as there are now several like the new Beretta ARX160-22 that have polymer uppers and lowers.

I bought one last January. Love it. It's very easy to maintain, and very durable also. It would be nice if they came out with a .17 or 22 mag. Course then it would be more expensive to shoot, but would be great for Prairie dogs too.

$350?? That's a real good price right now. Worth thinking about. Just can't get any damn S&W mags for them.

I got the Mossberg version of the ar in 22lr. I loved it at first, but the novelty wore of quick. Probably going to give it to my brother or father. Still a really cool and fun gun to plink with. It's the first thing everyone wants to shoot when we go out.

Default M & P 15-22? Oh Yes!

I think, without a doubt, this the most fun gun I have. I love it with or with out a scope. I also have a red dot for it that is a bunch of fun. I added a bi-pod, folding vertical grip, and a sling. Be sure to follow the ammo recommendations in the manual. They can be a bit picky and I settled in on Aquila HV SP 40gr. ammo. Quite accurate, but really, really a fun rifle!
