Best Optic

What is the best optic for a ruger 10/22 for around $75?
Uses:
Target shooting(100-250 Yrds)
Varmint shooting(rabbits squirrel etc.)

I would appreciate any suggestions out of personal experience and use.
Thanks!

BSA Sweet 22. http://swfa.com/BSA-3-9x40-Sweet-22-Riflescope-P42505.aspx I have one and it works. They also have a 6-18x for lot more money.

First of all if your shooting a 22 at 250 yards your better than most of us here! :D
But seriously, first of all I would get a set of 1" Rings for the rifle. Then I would get a decent 1" Tube Scope for it Probably in from straight 6X power to a 3X9 Variable. The inch tube scopes let good light in and they are easier to rapidly acquire the target and see it clearly! There are a few good scopes out there for your application. The ones that comes to mind is Simmons, Tasco and Bushnell. Either of them will do you well on a 10/22. And you can get a good one for under $79.00.

I have a 3-9x32 center point on my Weatherby Mk.XXII. It was around $40 at wallmart. Ive shot out to about 200 yds. with it. Ive had it a couple of years, I like it and it works good.

I agree. A friend has the 6-18x & thinks very highly of it. It's not really all that much more if you don't mind AO vs. side focus parallax adjustment.

Yeah, that parallax is important when you're going out to 250 with a .22.

I went with the 4-16x44 Center Point on my Marlin 25MN...it stays set at 125 yards,
as my farm's Coyote KZ is between 100 & 150 yards... Federal Game-shok 50-grain .22WMR to the head takes 'em to DRT status!

i have a Simmons 3-9x40 on my Marlin M60 and it works great. my maximum yardage to shoot with it is about 100 yards. they cost about $40-45 new. WalMart carries them someplaces, but usually Cabela's, and others carry them too.

That is a really good price. SWFA wanted $150 for the 6-18 but only $40 for the 3-9.
