I would like to try cci velocitur (gold dot). Also is there a ballistic tip in 22lr or is it too slow?

I love the CCI Velocitors...but they are a bit pricey.

Bulk Winchester 555 expand very well and have a large cavity in the bullet. They are quite accurate for bulk ammo as well. Very effective on squirrels.

Stingers do alot of damage. Never recovered any .22 bullet, so I can't say they expand better, just they make slightly larger holes! Aguila Hyper velocity HP's are the same way.

I shot through a half gallon plastic juice bottle AND a gallon milk jug at 150 yards, both at the same time with one shot. I was hoping to recover the bullet to see the expansion. Ammo was federal bulk 36 gr HP. Obviously there wasn't much expansion if it penetrated that much. Those hps are small, though. They sure flatten out hitting steel at that range, I recovered one of those. A lot of fun at that range!

Homemade .300 thick steel Target. Didn't leave a dent.

If your looking for a bullet for small game to eat. Use a solid. Shot the head but atleast with a bad shot you still have meat to eat. Bigger critters your not going eat then shoot what ever HP your rifle likes best. 22's tend to be reather pick about about ammo anyhow so try a couple hyper brands and shoot the one your rifle likes best.. Ain't that much difference how how the work.

Wow. Thanks shrek. Looks very interesting and effective, although pricey. I sure hope it is safer than it appears. It seems like a good way to end up with a burnt looney tune face, taking a hammer to a rimfire round.
