Anyone own a Remington 580, 581, or 682?

If you own one of these Remingtons what are your thoughts? Accuracy, ease of function, pros, cons, etc.?

(oops! title should say 582, not 682)

Personally own the Remington Model 580- single shot bolt. Bought mine used from a pawn shop for $100 out-the-door. As far as I'm concerned, I got a bargain. It came with a cheap 4X15 Jason scope which I removed and ultimately gave away. Mounted a BEC 3-9X42 scope which I found on craigslist which I ultimately gave $20 for. Rifle is primarily used for defending by my bird feeders from squirrels and other pests that encroach in my backyard. Most shots taken within 15 yards. To date, I haven't taken this rifle to the range to determine what kind of groups it will shoot at 25 and 50 yards, but one day, I'll mount a decent scope and take the time to see what kind of groups it will shoot.

First, my fondness for the rifle. I own a number of .22 firearms, and if I had to sell them because of hard times, this rifle would be one of two of the last ones I would sell- between a custom 10/22 and the Model 580 with a decision being made based on a coin toss.

Simple gun that absolutely makes it necessary to make the first shot count. I will shoot any .22 rimfire ammo available- short, long and long rifle I can get my hands on, one of the things I really love about this rifle- with minor adjustments on my scope elevation or using the mil dot. Still, I primarily shoot CCI Subsonic Segmented Hollow Point ammo with devastating effects of errant squirrels and rats.

The only perceived dislike about the rifle which I've really adjusted to is that it's a little awkward to load a round with a scope mounted, but again, I've adjusted.

They are neat old Remington rifles. I want one because it looks like a .22 rimfire version of my larger Remington model 788. They seem to be going for pretty high prices right now (like almost all guns are).
