Anschuetz 300

Hi guys,

my gunsmith has a Anschuetz Modell 300 semi auto .22 rifle with my name on it, in his shop.

Can anybody give me some input on that rifle?
The modell 300 is an american/canadian version from Anschuetz.

Here`s a pic of it. It`s the one in the front.
It has been in the safe for approx. 30 years and has never been fired.

Well, Anschutz makes good stuff. I THINK your rifle is a/k/a the Model 520, which was replaced by the 525. Finding magazines will be a hobby- an expensive hobby. It is what I consider a hunting grade rifle, as opposed to match grade- but still well made. The 2 piece stock has a rep for some screws coming loose in use- look into Loc-Tite. If you need an owner's manual, this is the one for the 525.

If you don't speak German, you can sign up for a class at your local college.

:p just kidding- keep scrolling, it has an English version.

That looks like a Browning semi-auto on top....how much does he want for THAT? :D

ups, forgot to mention:
I live and grew up in germany. So german is no problem.
Also getting extra mags isn`t such a pricy issue here, since that stuff is quite cheap.

The small one above my Anschütz, is a FN.
He also has an american semi auto .22 with an integrated sling in the rear stock. Don`t have a clue what make it is. Here is a pic of it.

All three run about for the same price. € 120,-.
That`s about $ 90,-

Thank`s for the tip on the Lock Tite, I`ll do that.

Does anybody know, if there are any armorer manuals oder videos around on the Anschutz 520?

I find the owners manual dosn`t really help much and I havn`t found anything yet gives detailed explanation how to disassemble and clean the Anschütz.

€120 = $163.

Still that's an excellent price, especially on the FN and Anschutz.

The American rifle is a JC Higgins model 30. JC Higgins was a house brand name of Sears, a large chain of department stores in the US. They used to sell guns and had guns made by many different manufacturers sold under the "JC Higgins" and "Ted Williams" names. This gun was made by High Standard. Other Sears guns were made by Winchester, Voere, Marlin and Mossberg.

Thank`s fo rthe input, natman.

My mistake with the exchange rate. I read of the wron line in the conversion table.....:D

All three rifles made a good impression to me.
According to my gunsmith, the Anschuetz is the better one of the three and I don`t have any problems getting spare parts here in germany for the Anschuetz.
Also, the Anschuetz is the only one of the three, that has a normal Mag instead of the pipe magazine (or what it is called) through the stock or under the barrel.

On friday I will pick up the Anschuetz and also take it to the range to set up the Red Dot scope I have for it.

But I`m still looking for some input or a good manual/video on disassembling and cleeaning the Anschuetz.

So, I picked up the Anschuetz yesterday and took it home.
Disassembling it, was pretty simple.
At least removing the barrell and the triggersystem (that is as far as I went), to give it a clean.

I mounted a Red Dop Scope a got for free, but had severe problems getting it set up.

But the accuracy is pretty nice on our 50m range going over the standard sights.
I didn`t make any pics yet, but will do that tomorrow, when I am at the range again.

They're called tube magazines.
