I shoot a Ruger 10/22. I wanted to get a Remington 597 but I found that the Ruger has a lot more options. This is mine, it started with a wood stock and iron sights, I have the current load out in my sig. I'm going to probably going to get a for grip as well, and that stock is collapsable.

Dino 1 that's what I'm looking for! Send more pics, want a .22 for my son.. It's cheaper and less expensive to shoot and own, than another AR.

Tactical .22-there are only two makers worth calling Tactical.
American 180...hard as HECK to find, 180 round drum mags.
Calico's line of 100-round .22's, the M-100, M-110, M-100S, etc...still in production.

If you can't throw at least 100 rounds of .22lr's at something/someone, it ain't a tactical .22, its a bad joke.

Anything that holds less than 100 rounds of .22lr is pantywaist.

New guy here but I'll chime in on the original post. I can't comment on the Remington but I do own one of the Colt M4/22s. If you want something that duplicates the size, weight, and feel of the real M/4 that's the one to get. Mine is reliable with all ammo but Remington golden bullets and CCI blaser. There is something about them that causes them not to feed reliably although the accuracy is pretty good when you get enough to feed to shoot a group. The most accurate ammo is Winchester super x HV and the standard velocity super x is almost as good and doesn't require any change on the recoil spring. CCI mini-mags are close to the slow super x. All of the Federal bulk and even auto match functions reliably. but isn't very accurate.

I have shot the S&W also. Other than feeling like a toy because of the weight it's OK. It isn't finicky about feeding ammo but it does it's best groups with CCI mini-mags. I can't get quite as small groups with it as the Colt. I prefer the Colt but could live with the S&W. They regularly go on sale at Big 5 Sports for $449 for the Smith and $459 for the Colt.

I'll add that the trigger is very heavy on both. The Colt is a little smoother. Good thing about the Smith is that it is supposed to accept real AR triggers. $10 for a set of JP springs will make a big difference and you can go whole hog with a complete trigger swap. You are on your own with the Colt. I've done some experimenting with lighter springs. I'm not where I want to be but I need a few more springs to try.

I love the AR lookalike .22's just as much as anybody, but my 10-22 can do anything they can do at just a fraction of the cost. It consistently gives me nickle-sized groups at 50 yards with Federal 550 Bulk Box ammo from Wallyworld.
