In some ways it seems like its getting better then I see this and have to wonder if it really is. I've managed to get some for decent prices at my local gun shops, but 2-4 boxes at a time. .223 seems to be getting easier to find, guess time will tell

A glimmer of hope. Remember the gas crisis in the eighties. That got better!

You're lucky, in my area, if you are not inline early 3 to 4 hours prior to opening - you might leave empty handed. The standard rounds are being purchased before hitting the shelves.

I know we are talking about 22.s here but it reminds me of a sale Bass pro had on shotgun shells when I first moved here, to Missouri. They had the trap loads for 19.99 a case, with a limit of two. You had to pay for them at the store and they would print out a receipt. They have a meeting room at the Bass Pro in Springfield and they had lines formed with the different types of shell available. You got in the right line, paid for the shells and they gave you a card. Then you had to drive around the block to their warehouse. In the parking lot the had about 40 pallets of shotgun shells in two rows. They had armed guards at several spots along the rows and 10 or so employees there as well. You sat in the car / truck and handed them your receipt. They took care of the rest. I haven't seen that sale since then...I believe that was in 2006.

I've decided I'm going to shoot up one last box of 333rds. and then I'm gonna quit shooting rimfire for about 6 months. If idiots are willing to pay 100 bucks, or more, for a brick of .22's I'm not going to stand in thier way.

Just remember and never forget the companys that are double and tripeling there prices during this shortage, and when it's all over refuse to do business with them again. Support your LGS and they will support you! It all comes out in the wash.

I 100% agree. And as a note to that, Midway has sent a letter to all of their customers saying that they refuse to raise pricing now, or after this fiasco of "gun ban talk" is over. I've seen Walmart, Impact guns, Cheaper than dirt all raise prices.
