22LR and 22WMR Reliability

I was reading on another forum the other day a discussion on .22 ammo and its reliability. I know since .22 ammo is rimfire and made in such mass quantities that it is subject to some duds. However, it got me thinking about .22LR ammo vs. .22WMR. I can honestly say n thousands of shots iI have never experienced a dud in .22WMR, but have on occassion with .22LR . Is .22WMR produced to higher standards?

Depends entirely on the brand...

I think .22WMR is generally produced to a higher standard? It is copper jacketed and that alone requires more effort to produce. I think there is also a higher expectation of quality in the .22WMR? Of course the higher quality of the .22WMR ammo is reflected in its higher price. The venerable .22LR is still a great value though even with the occasional dud.

I shoot CCI .22 long rifle, copper-plated round nose, and never had a problem with any round.
