Probably last 3-4 weeks honestly. My wife, father, brother, nephew and I go out shooting every Sunday for a few hours. I pick up the ammo then we divide it up amongst us.

As long as the hoarding continues so will the high prices. Right now, if you buy more than you shoot, you are buying into the problem and paying dearly for the privilege. I have put on an eye-patch and have been selling ammo, and loving it. Anybody need a $100.00 brick? $50.00 9mm? $75.00 .45 ACP? Sorry, all sold out of 7.62 x 39.(I cleaned up on that stuff ) If you are not selling now, you will regret it later.

This was all based on Obama coming for your guns. He hasn't been to my house yet. Martial law that was predicted in Jan., for Feb. hasn't happened, and is only on the horizon in LaLa land. Assault ban is DOA except in the annals of the NRA. (excepting, of course, if you live in a state of fruits and nuts) I have yet to see a blue helmet; whats with that? No economic collapse, the stock market is booming, according to Republican philosophy, the rest of us will benefit from the trickle-down. Or is it being trickled on? All of the posturing in the congress is going to end with a whimper, not a bang. No American revolution, no second civil war, unless of course, you are a member of the Aryan Brotherhood; if so, good luck with that.

About the worst thing to happen in the past few months is the self-inflicted wound of the ammo shortage.

I know it hurts, but the Apocalypse is just not here. Embrace it, roll with it, stop the freaking hoarding, and everyone can live happily ever after.

Did I mention , "self inflicted wound?" oh yea, I did.
^Agreed^ I see that CNN has an article today about gun stocks falling. Hopefully everything will return to normal on the ammo scene soon.

You learn the future by studying the past.

Anyone that thinks ocean water floating the cushions off the deck chairs, with no more lifeboats on deck is nothing to cause concern is headed towards a cold, dark, wet shock of their lives.

WWII Germany was not that long ago, and what happened to the German people, is happening again, only thus time, the outcome will be much worse, because people today can no longer work with their hands, with tools and horses. We depend on everything done for us.

Enjoy the calm before the storm that is before us.

Some scumbag was selling 525rd Federal bulk in the local paper for $75 a brick. He needs pistol whipped in my opinion. I have over 4,000rds so there is no way in hell Im paying these azzholes jacked up prices. Most of it is CCI Mini Mag, Velocitor, or Stinger. Since the 08-09 shortage I would buy a box or two everytime I went to walmart or the gun shop. Looks like it payed off.

When I take out my 3 sons for a day of .22 shooting we could easily go thru 3200 rounds in a single day. Only thing they're killing is paper and every can or jug they can find. IMO, I think that the .22 is one of the best platforms to train folks who are new to firearms not only because it's cheap on ammo and light on recoil, but because it also inherently presents problems or issues like jams and stove pipes on a regular basis and they will quickly learn what they need to do in those situations. That's the way my dad thought me and it helped once I moved up to larger caliber's.
