.22 or .17
Hi,
I'm torn between getting a .17 HMR or .22 LR I'm mainly shooting small vermin rabbits etc which is best to go for any advice is appreciated ?

If ammo cost is a factor, and you will be shooting a lot, .22LR would seem to have a natural advantage.

If rabbit is the biggest you're going to shoot in the 22 up to 100 yards is fine. The 17 will take out anything from 200 yards and under up to a coyote size. The 17 is also inherently more accurate.

Pffft! If it's a coyote; how "clean" would the kill really have to be? I mean, c'mon, people use glue traps on other pests.

Try a .366(9.3) or .44!!!! I don't think a .17HMR is enough for 'yotes either. For Bunnies a .22lr works great.

the.17 is a flat and fast round but the bad thing is the wind plays he!! on the little 17 gr bullet my choice is the 22 good to 100 yds, cheeper to shoot

Head shot will drop a yote. And under 200 yds with a .17 isn't a problem.
