1892 Marlin
I have a Marlin Bafener .22 rifle model 1892. It has been handed down through a few generations now. I would love to have it restored, what is the best way to go about doing that? Thanks for any and all help.

Hey Utah, how "bad" of shape is it in? Is it shootable in its current condition? Are you looking to repair or restore? Again, depends on its current condition. Typically don't want to restore a gun like that unless it is really in poor repair. Obviously it is your choice, what is your desired endstate for the gun?
Good luck with it whatever you decide to do. regards |
I picked up a Winchester 94 in 32-40, out of a guys garage years ago for a $100. One day I thought I'd have it worked on, the only thing it needed was a magazine spring and cap, which the gunsmith found for me. If it was restored it would reduce the value, after some research I found it was made in 1896, I have left it as is, it's shootable and sure has a lot of charactor. Just something to consider.

This gun is not shootable right now. It could definitely be in worse shape, but needs quite a bit of work. I would want it restored not repaired. I want to keep it as original as absolutely possible.
