Default 17hmr and scope recommendations

I was looking into getting a .17 hmr for some varmint hunting and do not have a overly huge budget. I just like to get some advice on what is a good combo for the money. Thanks.

I have a 4-14x40mm Bushnell Trophy on mine. Works very well.

I have a marlin 917 v with a bsa 3-9 x 32 scope on it, a Harris bipod, this gun is like a lazer beam put crosshairs where ya want to hit and its there, this rifle is more accurate than I can shoot it. I have less than 300 in this, local bass pro had it on a stupid good sale couple years back and couldn't pass it up.

Once the super magnum rifles come on, the hmr rifles will probably drop in price, I may pick one up eventually but Ill want to shoot one before I just buy one and make sure they have all the kinks worked out of it first.

I just bought a Savage 93R17 BTVS and put a BSA Sweet 17 3-12X40 on it. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. The BSA Sweet 17 scopes are pretty cool. They were designed for the 17 and you can easily adjust for distance and bullet weight on the fly.
