10/22 accessory questions
 

for my new 10/22 I want to get a scope for her. I was looking at a Nikon Omega scope. any reviews on that particular scope would be nice. also I woul love to hear your input on your opinion for a better scope or good accessories

I have or have had several Nikon scopes and I am/was very happy with them. Never had an Omega, though.

Many, many options for your 10/22. What are you going to use it for....plinking, hunting, target shooting?

I'm not 100% certain, but I thought the Omega scopes are for black powder.

okay I'm not sure either but I will research it I just saw it at Gandermountain and really likes the crosshairs and the look

You need a good folding stock and it just so happens that I have one sitting here that I have absolutly zero use for.

the Nikon omega is for muzzleloaders so if you have any good scopes please let me know

A lot of Nikon scopes to choose from, and I like the BSA scopes I've bought over the past few years. Either one will do just fine on a Ruger 22. I put a BSA Sweet 22 on my Marlin 60 several months back, a Catseye on my 917V a few months ago and most recently a Contender on my Excel Arms 22-Magnum rifle, I like the side focus options on the Catseye and Contender.

Which cross hairs were you looking at on the Nikon??

I'm a tightwad, I don't believe in spending more on a scope than the cost of the rifle. Most shots with a .22 will be at targets under 100 yards, so many scopes are good in that circumstance.

I use Simmons 3X9X32 .22 Mag. with A.O. on both of my 10/22's. They do an excellent job and are between $45 and $65 depending on the sales and the finish you want.
