Default Wood furniture

Looking for opinions and ideas for wood furniture. I really like the look of Doug
Turnbulla new Ar with the wood. I was thinking of setting it up on my older 1974 colt sp1

There is something about an AR with wood furniture that just doesn't feel right to me. Especially on a sp1, just goes against the grain (pun intended).
