will it work
I have been thinking of getting a 7.62×39 upper for my ar15 and have been told that they don't cycle well and jam easily is that so? Or do I need to get a certain kind for it to work. Thanks for ur help

Your problem will be magazines. The 7.62 x 39 cartridges- when stacked one on top of another, forms a curve due to the sharply tapered sides of the cartridge. This is why AK mags are curved, and AR mags straight (or nearly so).
The magazine well in your lower is straight. Needed magazine is curved. That will not end well. |
The only ar15 i know of that works with 7.62x39 is the new rockriver gun. It uses standard ak47 mags and costs a scootch over 1000$
Why not just get a ak some mags a drum and 3000 rounds of ammo for the same price?? |
Shooting 7.62x39 out of an AR is like using your moms china to serve college kids hot wings, it just shouldn't be done imo
I agree with JonM up there, buy a decent AK, some drum mags, and go have fun with the appropriate weapn for that caliber :) |
IMHO, an AR in 7.62 is like a 1911 in 40 short and weak.
Maybe fun to shoot but it would be embarrassing if your friends caught you in the act! http://i1060.photobucket.com/albums/...pscf09998c.gif |
