And to think I had almost sated my AR addiction with my .223, .308 and .458 Along comes JD like a crack dealer on the corner

No way I can justify $5k on a rifle - no matter how dead sexy she looks and especially while I have 3 others to choose from. But a fourth caliber that would extend the field of play even further? Hmmmm, might have to start researching some myself

LOL - I think I just got a new signature.

The .338 is $5K, but that .338 Federal named "Beast" starts at $1900. I am not opposed to dropping $5K, but for the money, I can do more with the .338 Federal in the way of optics and reloading for the same price.

*pondering, pondering*

I just got another line of credit out for the holidays and while the kids come first, then the wife. . . I deserve some luxury items for my hobby as well. The Christmas bonus/vacation pay will be divided very fairly amongst us, but 90% of my share will be spent on rifles and accessories. The remainder on the house. (as a Carpenter I can stretch the home budget pretty far. . .)

As for the credit cards. They say it is best to use them for luxury items, vacations, new appliances and other tangible items that you wouldn't be able to afford otherwise. NEVER use a CC for groceries, gas or ANY bills. You're just paying more overall for things you need to live anyways.

Life is short. Rack up the credit card on a nice gun and BE HAPPY!!!

Patience is a virtue, a virtue I'm not blessed with. On that topic, the brown Santa delivered this last week:

The stripped lower is sitting in my FFL holders safe, this was to be his first transfer since acquiring his license and he didn't quite have all his ducks in a row, so hopefully tomorrow or Tuesday. In it for about $1K so far including the lower.

DPMS LR308 complete upper, 24" fluted SS barrel. DPMS parts kit and A2 stock kit. 2X CMMG .308 mags and 1X MagPul mag. The stripped lower is a CMMG MK-3 lower. I want a target grip with a palm shelf.

Nothing spectacular so far, but I do plan on spending some money on glass for the first time ever. My FFL holder has offered his pricing on Zeiss and another local shop sells Night Force at $10 over cost. I know next to nothing about scopes beyond reputation of name brands, so this will be an adventure in and of itself.

That is a sexy stick you got there, russ. I'll be looking forward to the complete rifle.
