What do you intend to use it for?
At what ranges?
What are the specs on your barrel?

Hornady Tap is good. Comes in a variety of flavors and weights!
Only advice I have for you is, whatever brand you get, run a few hundred rounds of it through your gun, rapid and slowfire, with the mags you intend to use, just to make sure your rifle will eat it. Please don't buy self defence ammo and not test it.
For under 200 yards, you can use just about any weight. For barrier blind rounds, look for heavier weights.

If you can run 5.56, I find XM193 lake city or federal hard to beat for the money. Acceptable accuracy at your specified range...55 gr. so it works well with the 1:9 barrel, if I understand it correctly. Never had one not go "bang". JMHO.

macon17,
Federal P-223-E BTHP! Very accurate out of the 1:9 twist 16" barrel. Have shot them for accuracy for years. Depending certainly on the rifle, but I get 1MOA to 3/4 MOA groups at 100 yards when shooting it from my Rock River Elite Car A-4 1:9 16" and out of my 20 Varmint RRA "Wylde Chamber" 1:8 less than 1/2 MOA. and have several often at 1/4 MOA. it is good stuff! And if you just want practice ammunition that shoots almost identical to it for practice, I recommend the American Eagle 55 gr. FMJ ammunition or Black Hills 55gr. FMJs for practice. As far as defense rounds certainly nothing wrong with Hornady Tap for around the home either! Or Black Hills.

Fairly much anything up until you mention SD/HD.
I am told TAP works well but there is other stuff out there. If it were me I'd go w/ TAP.
