Thats highly do able. Reloading for it? Factory .223 or Mil-Spec NATO 5.56?

Price range?

Do you want to do it yourself, or are you open to having a real custom upper developed for you?

I just had a wicked build idea that would DEFINITELY be epic for this application.

What do you know about barrel makers in Wisconsin, Lon? *evil grin*

20" free floated barrel on an A3 type upper seems to be the most popular configuration. Why not just get the complete upper, less work than swapping out a barrel which is most of the cost anyway.

Build a lower then you can get a little doo hickey under your name.

I don't know, I was just thinking about swapping out the barrel with a better, more accurate one. I don't want to reinvent my whole rifle other than that.

Regarding just swapping out the whole upper......then that brings up the question....what do I do with the old one? I HATE trying to sell stuff on eBay or GunBroker. Hate it.

And the doo-hickey.....it's very tempting, and I'd love to have one....but I "built" my AR about a year ago and don't have the need for another one. But I'm a big fan of doo-hickeys in general. Hell, who isn't?
